PUSONG BATO

I can't say I hate this song, but it just annoys me to death when listening to it! But to hear it everyday is just like a nuclear bomb that exploded inside my ear and my eardrum now has a huge whole in it! Plus! The person who keeps on playing that song is no one but my really-not-so-good-at-singing father! I mean, can you imagine that? It's like a horrible math equation with no solution! Right now, he's singing it all over again and again with his "paos" voice! Isn't it like what they usually say? That it's like music in your ears. I'm loving the moment, you know! WOW! Well, if my father has that kind of wonderful voice, where could my extravagant and for-concert voice would come from? 

Friendship

              Last February 23, 2013, we had our last Values Education class with our teacher, Sir Obed Joy Gaitan. I think our topic or theme was about friendship. We had to make a big heart with our name on it. We had to tie it on a yarn to make it a necklace. But instead of putting the heart on front, we had to put it on our back, so others can write on it. Then one by one, each group was asked to sit in a circle and the rest of the class will come to you to write something on the heart. The people who wrote on the heart are the people who treasure you and thinks of you as his/her friend; people who became part of their lives; people who cares for you and loves you.  Many of my classmates wrote on my heart, but there is this one person who wrote on my heart unexpectedly on the last minute. He was my best friend then, and somehow things got complicated and we broke our relationship as friends. But because our topic was about friendship and people who you treasure, we both kind of think that now is the time where we need to forgive each other and be friends again. And so, I was really happy when he came to me first and hugged me. I asked then for forgiveness and he too, did. 

              I was happy that that activity happened because I learned something valuable. I learned that friends are like gold because having many friends whom you love and loves you back makes you feel you’re richer than a billionaire. And lastly, I learned that saying sorry is enough to take all the bad times and memories you had with each other.  Somehow someday, you too, will experience these with your loved one. So if you will, be sure to ask for forgiveness because it will solve everything.

We should all thank the Lord for giving us many blessings like our family and friends. We should all ask for forgiveness for the sins we made. We should treasure and love the people who became a part of our lives and to those who will become a part of it in the future. As for me now, I should start by praying.

Why blue? Why not pink? 

Well, first of all, pink for me is girly. I'm not saying I'm not a girl, well, I am for sure 100% girl, but not the girl-ish type. I just don't think pink is the right color for me. I'm more of a bluenatic (blue + fanatic)! I can say that I am addicted to blue. Just look at this page your at right now. Everything is in blue. Blue background, blue texts, blue titles, even all the fishes swimming at my mini fish pond at the right side are all color blue. Can you now say that I'm addicted to blue?

Why do people always say that pink is for girls and blue is for boys. Even in hospitals, pediatricians always makes the baby girls wear in pink and baby boys in blue? I really don't get it! 

PINK! It's signifies femininity. It's the color of your lips, cheeks when you blush, and this text. I don't hate pink, I just don't like it. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I hate it. Honestly, I really don't know why pink for me is like G-R-R-R!

BLUE! It's the color of the sky, heaven, outer space, ocean, and this text, too! Blue is clear. It is soothing and calming. It is peace. I like blue better. It does not make me feel all girly and sweet. It makes me feel like C-O-O-L!

Why blue and why not pink? Well, it's simple. Blue is better than pink!!! 

My Strange Little Elf 

Do you want to know about my strange little elf? So you'd better read this story. This strange little elf of mine is always liked and loved, but I annoy and hate. But the in the end, it turns out to be the strange little elf that I love.

This strange little elf is short and thin like a toothpick, but strong and hard to let him down just like his last name, "Harder." He always wanted to be a lawyer, but he sometimes changes his mind. His favorite color is red that's why he is a war-freak person.

Do you know why I annoy and hate him so much? well, it's that he is always teasing me, beating me, and everything. But sometimes I forget it all because I love him. And you know what is the strangest thing about him? He has extra fingers. Not only one but two! One extra finger on each hand. But the cool thing about it, those extra fingers he have are like his lucky charm. He always finds something in the streets, school, and everywhere just like bags, money and cellphones. But of course, he always brought it back to the owner.

This strange little elf that I annoy, hate, but love is really my little brother. The brother that is annoying but cool and awesome. The brother that first I annoy and hate but in the end, it turns out to be the brother that I love.

That was my very first feature article that I wrote. It kind of gave me the chills while I was writing this back in the past. And until now, it still does! Oooh! It's weird reading the articles you had written back then when you're still small. Like looking at your past pictures, it makes you wonder how you've grown up to be much more taller and beautiful! 

My Precious - Food

Everybody loves food. I mean, who doesn't? People with foodophobia? Well, food for me is like gold. It is a precious thing that makes my mouth open whenever I see it. It's the thing that really made my heart go ku-dung ku-dung ku-dung. It's my first love!

Scientifically, Food is any substance consumed to provide nutritional support for the body. It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism's cells in an effort to produce energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth.

But if I translate it in English, it’s like this-Food is life. Simple as that. Without it, we won’t be able to run as if there is a crazy dog or even our mom chasing us because we got a failure in a subject; we won’t be able to scream and shout to our idols when they perform in front of us someday; we won’t be able to laugh while watching Vice Ganda do his or her funny taglines every Sunday night; we won’t be able to take pictures of ourselves when we feel like doing vain poses; and lastly, it may come to a point where we all die because of starving. We won’t be able to do all these if we don’t consume these “substances.” It is because food gives us energy, and energy enables us to move and do these kinds of stuffs.

Now, let me tell you how I love food… I really love food!!! That is it, for short. But for the long one, here it is.

I love food as much as I love money. Nope! I’m wrong. I love food as much as I love myself! I mean, who doesn’t love themselves? Anyway, the first thing I’ll do if my father would win in Lotto (It’s still long time dream of my father.)  and would give me money, I would first list all the most delicious food that I’ve never tasted before and my favorites that I’ve tasted before, buy it, and eat it all at once! Oh, I would love it if my father would miraculously win today!

People who are a foodoholic turn fat easily because they eat so much food. I do eat a lot even up to 4 cups of rice all at once, but still, I’m not gaining any ounce of fat. Well, I’ll gain after eating, but after an hour or two, guess what? Back to thin me! Others might say it’s nice because you won’t be able to worry about getting thin and let us say sexy, but for me, it’s the opposite. I would also like the me who is a fast-metabolic person only if my parents would stop telling me and reminding me how small I am. I mean, they just can’t get the meaning of fast-metabolism.

There was this one time my family went to Manila last summer to visit my aunt. She is a generous aunt that is why she made us eat five times a day. Can you imagine that! HA! Wish you this kind of aunt, right? Well, during my vacation there, I gained 10 pounds! Can you imagine that, again? But unfortunately, after coming back home, I lose 10 pounds again after a few days. And then, last July 2012, I joined the Taekwondo team in WVSU. And guess what? I lose five to ten pounds again for about a week. So until now, my weight is just at 89-90 pounds.

Go back to food. What else can I say? I love food so much! Just that! Honestly, I don’t know how to end this post because I still want to tell you everything about how I love food so much and my experiences with it, but it will take a long time before I finish this. So now, I’ll stop. Thank you for wasting your precious time by reading this short post of mine… kamsahabnida (thank you)!

The engagement

I remember when I was in first year, of course I was 13 then, and oh my G I'm so insane back then. 

This video was made because it was our project in Speech and Drama class. The topic that was given to us was about an engagement with some troubles. So we came up with this story. I was the girl named May Ronshi, who got engaged to a handsome, young Chinese named Ta Lei Nga, who was played by Vince. May's family didn't like Chinese and so did the family of my Ta Lei Nga. So the obstacles and hardships that the couple starts there. But later, the some people in each family tried to help the couple, and so, the opposing families will somehow agree. 

You'll laugh all throughout the video as Vince (playing the lead character) does weird but cool actions, Phaul  Rey  (playing as the father of Ta Lei Nga) in his "I'm not that innocent" scene, and other characters in this presentation like Phoebe Lagak, Whalah Lhang, Whiteney Haust, David Archi Younghustbund, Mai Ponga, Lei Fong, Katy Perr,  Lossein Found, Pluto Mars, and Angel Bocsing.

          Seeing my world’s most common name for the first time on the very top of the honor list since 1^st year made my facial muscles contract, making my lips stretch to either side of my face until it reaches my ears, showing all my 32 teeth, especially my two rabbit teeth, my eye bags bulking on each eye but still appropriate, and my feet kept bending and exerting force making me jump. Then suddenly, the world kept going on fast forward and then I see myself standing on the stage, giving my valedictorian speech on graduation day with all those big spotlights pointing to me… Wow! It’s amazing but still, it’s a long way to go and things change as time passes by.

          But with all these great achievements I’ve received since then, I wouldn’t be able to achieve it all if it weren’t for God who always guides me whenever I take my exams; my parents, though they don’t really pay much attention to what I’m doing every time the periodic exams comes; my sister who patiently reviews me on subjects that makes my nose bleed and brain blow up like Biology; my brother, who doesn’t really do anything, just sit in front of the computer and play those boring games children now a days often play; my dog who always comforts me in times I want to give up; my mini lamp for helping me study whenever there’s brownout; my comfort foods, who always comforts me when I’m studying, my highlighter, who helps me to study easily; my teachers who patiently teaches me and my classmates the lessons that should be taught for us to know more things and to help put more useful stuffs into our overflowing brain; my friends who always joins me when I study alone and makes me forget the worst moments that I’ve gone through every time there were tests; and lastly, to Mikneiah Reyfa D. Harder for always attentively participating in classroom activities, doing projects with all she got, fighting one on one with those killer questions that teachers put in their exams and for enduring those sleepless nights she had gone through to study. I’m grateful to these guys I’ve mentioned. I owe them one!

          You know, being able to reach the top isn’t quite easy. Even for an expert mountain climber still goes through unsuspected obstacles in his way. And even a genius will sometimes questions whether his answer is correct or not to a simple question. I too, had gone through those obstacles and hardships before I had reached the top.

          There is this one time I really can’t forget. I think it was around 2^nd grading of my sophomore year (that is now, in the present). I had these thoughts that made me think that I had enough and that I’m really tired of sticking my face in front of my textbooks. I just really wanted to quit! I then told myself that I wouldn’t dare to listen, read, and participate on anything related to school work anymore. And I did! But fortunately, I never stick to my word. So, for about 12 minutes after thinking and promising myself not to study anymore, I then raised my right hand again to participate, open my textbooks, and listened to my teachers. Day had passed and another day came. A day where all I face is my thick and informative textbooks and my teachers who teaches me all sorts of lessons and a bit of nonsense, sometimes.

          Now, I’m just glad I’m still on this point where I still adore reading books and studying. And I’m still thankful to those who helped me to become what I am now.   

A lot of K’s

      I’ve always liked Korean Dramas and movies, Korean language, Korean music, Korean fashion, and Korean idols with their cute and funky hairstyles. But! A BIG BUT! I never wanted to be a Korean myself. Never imagined; never wished for.

      I can only say that watching K-dramas and K-movies are just the things I usually do when I’m bored and alone at home. Admit it! Is there really not a single time that you’ve actually watched or liked anything related to Koreans and felt butterflies in your stomach while watching it or had it? Hmmm…

      Learning Korean language isn’t really that hard. My Korean friend once even said that Japanese and Chinese language is much HARDER, and it is correct. Honestly, the main reason why I’m learning Korean language is that if I’ll watch K-dramas and movies, I’ll be able to understand what the actors and actresses is saying without having a nosebleed. Plus, I’ll need not to panic if the video does not have subtitles.

      Listening to K-pop is what I like. I also like P-pop and American songs, but not as much as I like K-pop. It’s not about whether I understand what the song means or not, it’s just about the way they (K-pop idols) sing the song and how it will touch your heart when you’re listening to it. By the way, I’m talking about ballad songs because it’s my favorite genre of all.

`     Koreans have those kinds of fashion that are weird. Not in a bad way, but in a cool-weird way. Whether they’ll wear very large clothes for their small bodies or wear rainbow-like colored clothes, they still carry them in a pretty awesome way.

      Korean hairstyles are the best. It’s like they are the kings and queens when it comes to designing hairstyles. Even in boys, it’s like the coolest. I’ve always wanted to go to a Korean parlor. I want to try a haircut that will make me look nice and much more presentable.

      I’ve liked it all. Their language, music, fashion, hairstyles, and mostly their delicious food, I like it all. But I never really wanted or wished to be a Korean. I can’t even imagine myself with small eyes and wearing hanbok and all, but I can imagine myself with a fair complexion and speaking in Korean fluently though. And all that I’ve mention above, to me, is just like my hobby. Things that I like to do, listen, and learn.

It's MIKNEIAH!

Wow! I can't believe I was born with a VERY SHORT name (I'm just being ironic! =>)! Not to mention, it is the WORLD'S MOST COMMON name (still being ironic)! It only goes like this - MIKNEIAH REYFA DENOMAN HARDER (Mikneiah Reyfa D. Harder for short). Do you believe me now?

Even though given the title of being the world's most common name, still, many (when I say many, it means A LOT!) people always misspells and mispronounce my name! Many would spell my it as Mikneih, Mikneah, Mikniah, Mikleah, Mikleaih, Mikliah, Mikeneiah, Mekneiah, Mekniah, and Mineah! Gosh! And don't let me get started when I tell you about how people pronounce my name! There is one time when I was in grade 3 and my teacher called me as Mikneyayah. Even my cousin would call me Mikiniyah. And worst of all, an announcer in the taekwondo City Meet called me MICKY RUFFA!!! I mean, what is wrong with my name? Don't you know my name is from a bible dictionary? And it even means "God's possession!" Well, I guess there is nothing wrong with my name. It's just your eyes. 

I can endure if someone will call me by my first name, even if it's wrong. But if you call me in my I-dont-know-why-I-so-dislike second name, oh, I may not like you anymore. Hahaha! I'm just kidding! But I'm telling you that I just don't want to be called by my second name, even if it is the combination of my beloved father's and mother's name, REYne and FAith. 

So just call me MIKNEIAH! XD

Hello to you, the person whom just opened up my blog and the one who's currently reading this first sentence! Annyeonghaseyo! I'm Mikneiah. The one and only Mikneiah Reyfa D. Harder in the whole world (Correct me if i'm wrong, okay?)! I'm a normal, living person living at 36 Gustilo Street La Paz Iloilo City and is currently studying my second year in high school at West Visayas State University Integrated Laboratory School. I'm a fun and playful, 14 (going 15 on May 2 this year) year year old girl. I laugh at anything funny and even with those that are not. I even laugh at my own laugh!
